Moises Caicedo reportedly tells friends that he wants to join Liverpool, but the Reds face a battle with Graham Potter's Chelsea for the 21-year-old's signature.

Moises Caicedo has reportedly told friends that he wants to leave Brighton & Hove Albion to join Liverpool.

The Reds face a battle to secure the 21-year-old's signature, with former manager Graham Potter interested in bringing the midfielder to Chelsea, according to reports.

Football Insider reports that the Ecuadorian starlet has told those close to him that he wishes to move to Anfield to play for Jurgen Klopp's side.

The report states that Brighton value Caicedo at around £45m, although in August, before Potter moved to Chelsea, he insisted that a rumoured £42m transfer fee would "probably get his boots", insisting that the midfielder was worth closer to £100m.

Liverpool's number one target for their midfield rebuild is Jude Bellingham, however, they are likely to be in the market for more than one midfielder as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita are all out of contract in the summer.

The former Independiente del Valle man has featured in 16 of the Seagulls' 17 Premier League matches this season, scoring once and assisting once.
