Chelsea complete the signing of Brazilian defender Wallace from Fluminense.

Chelsea have completed the signing of much-coveted Brazilian defender Wallace from Fluminense.

The 18-year-old will remain with the Brazilian club until the end of the season before linking up with his new teammates ahead of the 2013-14 campaign.

Wallace made his professional debut for Fluminense earlier this year and has since made 18 league appearances for the Brazilian outfit.

A statement from Chelsea read: "Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce we have agreed terms with Fluminense for the transfer of Wallace in the January window.

"As part of the deal, the 18-year-old defender will remain with Fluminense until the end of the season."

Wallace had previously been linked with a host of European clubs.
