Chelsea confirm Bertrand Traore loan move

Chelsea forward Bertrand Traore signs a new three-year deal with the club and will spend the first of those on loan at Ajax.

Chelsea have confirmed that Bertrand Traore will spend the 2016-17 season on loan at Ajax.

The 20-year-old broke into the first team last season, going on to score four goals in 16 appearances for the Blues.

The Burkina Faso international has now signed a new three-year deal with the club, but will spend the first of those in the Eredivisie with Ajax.

"Traore is a good prospect, he's a prospect for a Chelsea player. He's going on loan to Ajax, he's a good player," Chelsea boss Antonio Conte told reporters.

"And together the club we prefer to play and to improve, to have a season and to play every game, and then to come back."

Traore became the first Burkinabe to score in the Premier League during their victory over Newcastle United in January.
