Chelsea to move for Xabi Alonso?

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso could move to Chelsea should Jose Mourinho return to Stamford Bridge, according to reports.

Chelsea could make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso in the summer, according to reports.

Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, and according to The Independent, Alonso would be keen on following the former Chelsea boss back to England.

It is reported that the Spanish international could be available for a reduced price, and his relationship with the Portuguese boss could see the former Liverpool player head back to the Premier League.

Alonso is believed to favour a move to London, which could also alert Arsenal, but with Chelsea keen to improve their midfield in the summer, the Europa League finalists would be favourites to seal the 31-year-old's signature.
