Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to go head-to-head for the signature of Barcelona outcast Miralem Pjanic this summer.
The former Juventus man only arrived at Camp Nou last summer in a deal which saw Arthur Melo head the other way, but he has started just six La Liga matches during a miserable 2020-21 season.
Furthermore, with Barcelona needing to raise funds amid debts of up to €1bn, Pjanic is expected to be one of the first names on the transfer list when the upcoming window opens.
According to Le 10 Sport, Barca are already working to offload the Bosnia international, with Chelsea and PSG both eyeing a loan move for the 2021-22 campaign.
The report adds that Pjanic himself is desperate to move on after spending weeks warming the bench, but his mammoth wages could prove to be a stumbling block, and his existing Barca deal - which expires in 2024 - includes a £365m buyout clause.
The 31-year-old was brought on for the final four minutes on last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Celta Vigo, which was his first taste of La Liga action since February.
