Newcastle United frontman Demba Ba will reportedly discuss a transfer to Chelsea over the coming days.
The Senegalese international has long been linked with a move away from St James' Park, where he is believed to have a release clause in his contract worth in the region of £7m.
It had been claimed that both Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain were keen to meet that valuation during the upcoming transfer window.
However, European champions Chelsea have stolen a march on their rivals by making an approach to Newcastle and the 27-year-old over a move, according to Sky Sports News.
The report has also suggested that the two parties will meet in the near future in the hope that a deal can be concluded early next month.
Ba joined the Magpies in the summer of 2011 from West Ham United on a free transfer.
