Two of Chelsea's fringe members reportedly emerge as January transfer targets for new West Ham United head coach Graham Potter.

West Ham United head coach Graham Potter is reportedly ready to target two players at former club Chelsea.

Having been confirmed as the successor to Julen Lopetegui earlier this week, Potter witnessed his new side bow out of the FA Cup on Friday night as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

Attention will now turn to the transfer market in an effort to kick-start West Ham's season, the Hammers currently sitting in 14th position in the Premier League table.

With Michail Antonio and Jarrad Bowen both sidelined through injury in the long term, acquiring a new striker is known to be one of Potter's priorities.

Nevertheless, according to TEAMtalk, the Englishman is also interested in signing players for other positions from Chelsea over the coming weeks.

Chelsea pair on West Ham radar

The report alleges that midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and defender Ben Chilwell are both on West Ham's radar.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca insisted at a press conference on Friday that Dewsbury-Hall had a future at Stamford Bridge, despite his lack of game time.

Just 56 minutes of football have been accumulated by the £30m signing from Leicester City, albeit with 10 appearances coming in cup competitions.

Injury and being down the pecking order have kept the 26-year-old out of action since December 19, and it remains to be seen whether he will be thrust back into the fold upon his return to fitness.

Furthermore, it is unclear if Chelsea and Maresca would change their stance if they were presented with a suitable proposal that could free up money to acquire a new centre-back or forward.

In the case of Dewsbury-Hall, he is allegedly open to a switch to the London Stadium in order to remain in England's capital.

Chilwell remains in need of escape route

Maresca also revealed on Friday that Chilwell was not under consideration for Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie with Morecambe courtesy of the Italian not wanting to take any risks on his fitness.

There is a desire from all parties to go their separate ways with the left-back not earning any senior minutes since an EFL Cup encounter against Barrow in September.

Although Potter does not know Dewsbury-Hall from his stint at Chelsea, he has previously worked with Chilwell, and a reunion seems a natural fit if the finances can be resolved.

The report suggests that the England international would have to be open to a wage-cut if a permanent or temporary transfer was to take place.
