Pep Guardiola is reportedly prioritising the signing of a new centre-back this summer, rather than going all out to sign Leicester City's Ben Chilwell.

Chelsea may have a clear run at signing Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell as Manchester City have reportedly prioritised bringing in a new centre-back this summer.

The reigning Premier League champions were rumoured to have joined Chelsea in the race to sign the England international, who is valued at more than £50m by Leicester.

Pep Guardiola is keen to strengthen his backline ahead of next season, but ESPN claims that the Catalan coach would rather recruit someone to partner Aymeric Laporte in the heart of defence.

Villarreal's Pau Torres is touted as a possible option for Guardiola, while Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar is another rumoured target.

Chilwell has three assists and two goals in 23 Premier League appearances for Leicester this season.
