Chelsea consider dropping their interest in Leicester City's Ben Chilwell to sign French defender Layvin Kurzawa on a free transfer, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly considering dropping their interest in Leicester City's Ben Chilwell to sign French defender Layvin Kurzawa on a free transfer.

The Blues are expected to bring a new left-back to the club during this summer's transfer window and have been strongly linked with a move for Chilwell.

Leicester are thought to value the England international in the region of £80m, though, which could price Frank Lampard's side out of a deal.

According to The Express, the London giants are currently considering alternatives to the Leicester full-back and have identified Kurzawa as a potential signing.

The 27-year-old, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, will see his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expire at the end of June, making him an attractive proposition on a free transfer.

Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri are both expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
