Report: Atletico Madrid want Alvaro Negredo

A report claims that Atletico Madrid want to sign Manchester City forward Alvaro Negredo this summer.

Atletico Madrid will reportedly move for Manchester City's Alvaro Negredo should Diego Costa leave the La Liga leaders this summer.

Costa, who has scored 35 times for Atletico this season, has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea following an impressive campaign.

According to Mundo Deportivo, should the Spanish international depart the Calderon, Atletico will attempt to bring Negredo back to Spain.

The powerful forward has scored 23 times in 45 games for City this season after moving from Sevilla last summer.

However, injuries have stunted his form in the second half of the season and it is understood that Atletico are confident of enticing the Spaniard back to his home nation.
