Report: Everton target Demba Ba as Romelu Lukaku replacement

Everton reportedly line up a £10m move for Chelsea hitman Demba Ba if Romelu Lukaku returns to Stamford Bridge.

Everton are reportedly lining up a £10m move for Chelsea forward Demba Ba if Romelu Lukaku returns to Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku, 20, enjoyed a season-long loan spell at Goodison Park but is said to be willing to fight for a first-team place under Jose Mourinho next season and, according to The Daily Mail, the Toffees will turn their attentions toward Ba.

Despite scoring a number of vital goals for the Blues in recent weeks, the Senegal international is believed to be surplus to requirements in West London and has grown disillusioned working under the Portuguese.

The Merseysiders could face stiff competition for the 28-year-old, however, as Arsenal and Fenerbache have also been linked with the former Newcastle United marksman.

Lukaku, whose Chelsea contract expires in 2016, has struck 14 times in 32 Premier League appearances for Everton this season.
