Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours today, including Pereira to Nottingham Forest, Trafford to Newcastle and Onyeka's future.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira in the closing stages of the transfer window.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move away this summer, having attracted interest from Chelsea, Marseille and Juventus.

According to the Daily Mail, Forest have joined the race to sign Pereira and are considering whether to make a bid before Friday's transfer deadline.

While the Reds hold an interest in Pereira, it remains to be seen whether Fulham would be willing to part ways with the playmaker in the latter stages of the window.

The 28-year-old has started Fulham's first two Premier League matches and remains a prominent figure in Marco Silva's squad.

Pereira, who arrived from Man United in 2022, is under contract until the summer of 2026, with an option for the club to extend by a further 12 months.

Newcastle reignite Trafford pursuit

Meanwhile, Newcastle United have reportedly restarted negotiations over a potential move for Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford.

The Magpies made an effort to sign Trafford earlier this summer but failed with an £15m bid for the England Under-21 international.

However, according to The Guardian, Newcastle have reignited their pursuit and are back in negotiations with Burnley over a possible move.

The report suggests that Newcastle may look to strike an agreement over a potential loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is a huge admirer of Trafford and is seemingly keen to recruit him to provide competition to first-choice goalkeeper Nick Pope.

The Magpies would likely need to offload Martin Dubravka and Odysseas Vlachodimos before they can secure a deal for Trafford.

Bees waiting for Onyeka offers

Elsewhere, Brentford are reportedly yet to receive any transfer offers for Nigeria international Frank Onyeka.

The midfielder has made 77 competitive appearances since joining Brentford from Danish side Midtjylland in the summer of 2021.

However, Onyeka only made 11 Premier League starts last term and has had to settle for substitute appearances in the first two games of the new season.

Onyeka is behind the likes of Christian Norgaard, Mathias Jensen and Vitaly Janelt in the pecking order and is looking to secure a move away to gain regular game time elsewhere.

However, according to the Evening Standard, Brentford are yet to receive any transfer proposals for Onyeka despite attracting interest from clubs in England, France and Spain.

The report claims that the Bees are prepared to sell Onyeka but are not willing to entertain any loan offers for the 26-year-old.

Onyeka is currently under contract until the summer of 2027, with the option for Brentford to extend by a further year.
