League One roundup: Coventry City stay top after Doncaster Rovers draw

Coventry City keep top spot in League One after they draw with Doncaster Rovers, while Gillingham are held by Shrewsbury Town.

Coventry City have stayed top of League One despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Doncaster Rovers.

John Fleck's goal before the hour mark looked to have steered the Sky Blues on their way to another win at the Ricoh Arena.

However, Nathan Tyson's late strike means that Tony Mowbray's men will stay one point ahead of Gillingham, who were held to a draw by Shrewsbury Town.

Justin Edinburgh's side had looked to be heading for victory after Ryan Jackson netted for the Kent outfit, but a James Collins goal earned the Shrews a share of the spoils.

The Gills are now level on points with Burton Albion after they comprehensively beat Colchester United at the Pirelli Stadium.

Callum Harriott's early strike had given United the lead, but goals from Abdenasser El Khayati, Mark Duffy, Tom Naylor, Lucas Akins and Timmy Thiele ensured that Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's men ran out comfortable winners.

Walsall also remained firmly in contention for automatic promotion after Milan Lalkovic gave them a 2-1 win at home to Bradford City.

Peterborough United made up ground on the fifth-placed Wigan Athletic as a hat-trick from Conor Washington saw Posh thump Scunthorpe United. The Latics were held to a goalless draw at Southend United.

Millwall are just outside the playoff places, thanks to a narrow win over Bury. Shaun Williams's early goal at the New Den has seen the Lions leapfrog the Shakers in the table.

Swindon Town have pulled further away from the relegation places after Nicky Ajose scored twice in a 4-0 away win at Chesterfield, to continue the Robins' recent run of form under new manager Martin Ling.

Blackpool took victory in the first Fylde derby in league history as a Nathan Pond own-goal gave the Tangerines a 1-0 win, although they remain in the bottom four.

Oldham Athletic are also in the relegation places after Adam King's strike gave Crewe Alexandra a 1-0 win and moves them level on points with the Latics.

Rochdale moved level with Sheffield United after they came from behind to beat Port Vale. The Blades were held by local rivals Barnsley earlier in the day.
