Roy Hodgson has been 'given assurances' by Crystal Palace's owners and chairman that star man Wilfried Zaha will not be sold during the January transfer window.

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has insisted that he is "not too concerned" about rumours surrounding the future of Wilfried Zaha as the winger will not be sold at any cost.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal have each been tipped to make a move over the past few weeks, while Tottenham Hotspur made an enquiry during the summer.

Hodgson claimed last week that it is impossible to offer assurances over the 25-year-old's future at Selhurst Park, but he has now backtracked on those comments following talks with his superiors in recent days.

"I've assurances from the owners and chairman Steve Parish, it's not going to happen," he told reporters. "We are not too concerned about any rumours because he is going nowhere.

"Wilfried has been absolutely excellent for us in this recent good run we have had and of course he is the iconic Crystal Palace player having been with us for so many years and being a local hero.

"He is doing everything he can to try and keep us out of the relegation zone and he is going to have to keep producing those type of performances for many more games because we have a long fight ahead of us."

Zaha was voted Palace's Player of the Season for 2016-17 and signed a new five-year deal earlier this year.
