Half-Time Report: Derby County, Wolverhampton Wanderers still level

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County reach half time level following a goalless first half in their Championship meeting at Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have headed into half time at Molineux level with Derby County following a goalless first half in their Championship clash this evening.

It was the visitors who came closest inside the opening 10 minutes as Johnny Russell tried his luck with a long-range effort, which was comfortably held by Tomasz Kuszczak.

Craig Forsyth also had a chance to get the opening goal for Derby when he played the ball in for Darren Bent, but the striker could not stretch his leg out in time to turn it in.

Wolves continued to come under pressure at the back as Thomas Ince unleashed a powerful effort from the edge of the box, but it was kept out by the crossbar.

Benik Afobe had the best chance of the first half for the home side when he picked up the ball from a Nouha Dicko cross, but Lee Grant denied the striker.

Ince had a couple more chances for Derby before the interval, squaring it for Jesse Lingard before hitting one on the half-volley himself, but neither effort could get the better of Kuszczak.

The Rams thought that they should have been playing against 10 men before the end of the first half, though, as Bent was brought down by Danny Batth on the edge of the box, with Ince going on to put the ball in the back of the net. However, the referee called it back for a free kick, and did not punish the Wolves defender further.
