Eintracht Frankfurt edge past Hertha Berlin

Alexander Meier scores the only goal of the game as Eintracht Frankfurt get the better of Hertha Berlin 1-0 at home in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht Frankfurt have registered a narrow 1-0 victory over Hertha Berlin at home in the Bundesliga.

The visitors had the better of the chances in the opening minutes when Per Skjelbred and Sami Allagui both went close.

However, it was Frankfurt who broke the deadlock at the Commerzbank-Arena on 36 minutes when Alexander Meier latched onto a pass from Marco Russ and slotted home from close range.

Hertha stepped up their game in the second half, with Allagui and Adrian Ramos going close in the final 10 minutes, but the hosts held on for the points.
