Draw denies Eintracht Frankfurt first home win of the season

Eintracht Frankfurt come from behind to claim a 1-1 draw with Augsburg in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht Frankfurt had to come from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Augsburg in the Bundesliga this evening.

Both sides had strong spells of possession in the opening 30 minutes of the match, but neither were able to create a clear-cut chance early on.

However, the visitors broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute of the game when Raul Bobadilla took advantage of the stretched Frankfurt defence to volley in past Kevin Trapp, who was slow to react in the home goal.

Frankfurt responded immediately, with Joselu testing Marvin Hitz in the Augsburg goal, but he was able to deflect the shot onto the bar to prevent the equaliser.

The hosts were level four minutes later, though, as an attempted clearance dropped to Jan Rosenthal, who picked out the top corner with a powerful volley.

Augsburg came close to taking the lead again shortly after the restart as Tobias Werner broke on the counter-attack before crossing in for Andre Hahn, but the winger could not stretch far enough for the tap in.

Arkadiusz Milik almost grabbed a late winner for the visitors, but Trapp was able to push the ball away to ensure that the score finished level.

The result leaves Frankfurt without a win at home so far this season.
