Reports suggest that John Terry and Ashley Cole could shake off injuries to start for England against France.

Roy Hodgson will gamble on the fitness of John Terry by starting him against France on Monday, according to reports.

The Chelsea defender has been struggling with a hamstring injury and had been ruled doubtful for the Group D opener in Donetsk.

Hodgson has been warned that aggravating the injury could see him miss the entire tournament.

However, The Mirror understands that Hodgson may take a risk and name the former skipper in his starting lineup.

Meanwhile, Ashley Cole could also be set to start after overcoming a stomach bug.
