England and the Republic of Ireland can potentially be drawn in the same group for the Euro 2012 finals on December 2.

UEFA have announced the seedings for Euro 2012 in preparation for the group draw on December 2.

England are in the top two seedings of the European Championships alongside Germany, Italy and Russia while the Republic of Ireland have been drawn in the lowest seedings with Denmark, France and the Czech Republic.

The process consists of one team from each pot being drawn to make each group in the tournament. Therefore the Three Lions could potentially meet European and World champions Spain in the group stage.

The newly-qualified Irish side are in contention to meet Fabio Capello's men. However, they will not be able to avenge last year's World Cup qualifier defeat against France as they have been drawn in the same pot.

Euro 2012 seeds in full:

Pot 1: Poland, Ukraine, Spain, Holland

Pot 2: England, Germany, Italy, Russia

Pot 3: Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Sweden

Pot 4: Denmark, France, Republic of Ireland, Czech Republic
