FIFA president Sepp Blatter says that he can convince the International Football Association Board to introduce goal-line technology ahead of the next World Cup in Brazil.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter is hopeful of introducing goal-line technology ahead of the next World Cup in Brazil.

The Swiss has been convinced to make a u-turn on his previous stance against the use of technology following Frank Lampard's disallowed goal against Germany in South Africa.

AC Milan's Sulley Muntari also had a goal chalked off against Juventus in Serie A last week.

"We don't want a repeat of last World Cup [and the] experiences last week in Italy," said Blatter.

"I think I can convince the International Football Association Board that we must go forward with technology. We cannot afford to just wait and see what happens.

"Platini doesn't want to use technology, but I wouldn't be again in a World Cup and witness another situation - I would die."

Blatter was re-elected as president of FIFA in June last year after running unopposed.
