Former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur defender Sol Campbell is reportedly keen on becoming the new manager of the England Under-21 team.

The 38-year-old is believed to have been interested in moving into management for some time, and an opportunity appears to have presented itself following the dismissal of Stuart Pearce.

It is understood that Campbell, who has been working on obtaining coaching badges, is willing to take on the role, according to the Daily Star.

Campbell earned 73 caps for England during his playing career.
