England will play Switzerland in a friendly at the King Power Stadium on September 11 in an attempt to expand the international side's fixtures to outside of London.

England will play Switzerland in an international friendly at the King Power Stadium on September 11.

The FA has been encouraged to play more Three Lions fixtures away from Wembley, following the ecstatic atmosphere in England's 2-0 win over Costa Rica at Elland Road.

While many fans would support the international team travelling across the country, a potential bid for Wembley Stadium from Fulham owner Shahid Khan may force the squad to make more trips away from their London home anyway.

England have played Serbia and Montenegro at the King Power, but will be returning to the Leicester stadium for the first time in 15 years.

England's first game after the World Cup will be in London against Spain on September 8, as part of the new Nations League competition.
