Alex Horne: 'Roy Hodgson to lead England until 2016'

Football Association general secretary Alex Horne backs Roy Hodgson to remain in charge of England until the European Championships in 2016.

Football Association general secretary Alex Horne believes that Roy Hodgson has done a "brilliant" job while in charge of England.

Hodgson has lost just three of his 24 games since replacing Fabio Capello in 2012, and after guiding them to the World Cup in Brazil, Horne has revealed that he would like the former Fulham and Liverpool boss to remain in control of the national team until Euro 2016 in France.

Horne told The Times: "For me personally, Roy is our manager to France and I'm happy with that, very happy with that.

"I think he's been brilliant. He's exactly what we hoped for. For me, he passed the test by getting through our qualification group for the World Cup."

England are next in action when they host Denmark at Wembley on March 5.
