Tom Ince: 'I never snubbed England, despite turning down Under-21 Euros'

Tom Ince insists that he "never snubbed" England, despite asking not to be considered for selection for this summer's Under-21 Euros.

Tom Ince has insisted that he "never snubbed" playing for England, despite pulling out of this summer's Under-21 European Championships.

The 23-year-old, who is on loan at Championship side Derby County from Hull City, told manager Gareth Southgate in March that he does not want to be considered for selection.

After receiving some criticism for his decision, Ince has insisted that England "flows through the blood" in his family as his father Paul Ince was a full international for the Three Lions in the 1990s.

"I put my country to one side to get a bit of confidence back, but people were very quick to judge," Ince told BBC East Midlands Today. "England flows through the blood in the Ince family. I never snubbed England."

This week, Ince was named Championship Player of the Month for April after scoring five goals in six games.
