Equatorial Guinea confirmed as new hosts of 2015 Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football announces that Equatorial Guinea will replace Morocco as the host nation of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Equatorial Guinea has been confirmed as the new host of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The Confederation of African Football made the decision to switch the venue from Morocco following fears of the outbreak of the Ebola virus on the continent.

Equatorial Guinea will take on the responsibility of hosting the finals, which take place next year from January 17 to February 8, despite only having two major stadiums in the cities of Malabo and Bata.

The country co-hosted the 16-team competition in 2012 with Gabon.
