David Lopez wants Espanyol stay

Spanish midfielder David Lopez insists that he wants to stay with Espanyol this summer.

David Lopez has revealed that he wants to stay with Espanyol this summer.

The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks, with big changes expected to occur at the El Prat this summer.

However, the midfielder has insisted that he is "very happy" at the club.

"In principle, there should be no surprise or question about my future," Inside Spanish Football quotes Lopez as saying.

"I know some teams have been linked with me, but there is nothing. I want to stay here, I'm very happy. This summer I just want it to be quiet and enjoy my break."

A number of European clubs are believed to be monitoring proceedings.
