Report: Espanyol reject Marseille's Hector Moreno bid

A report claims that Espanyol have rejected an offer in the region of £5m from Marseille for Hector Moreno.

Espanyol have reportedly rejected an offer in the region of £5m from Marseille for their Mexican international defender Hector Moreno.

The centre-back, who has been one of the most impressive defenders at this summer's World Cup, is widely expected to leave Espanyol this summer to seek pastures new.

A number of European clubs have been linked with a move, but according to AS, the firmest interest has arrived from French outfit Marseille.

It is understood that the Ligue 1 side submitted a £5m bid for the 26-year-old, but that figure was quickly dismissed by the Spanish club.

Moreno joined Espanyol from AZ Alkmaar in 2011.
