Seamus Coleman "disappointed" after David Moyes loses Real Sociedad job

Everton defender Seamus Coleman backs David Moyes to recover after getting sacked by Real Sociedad.

Everton defender Seamus Coleman has claimed that he feels "disappointed" for David Moyes after the Scotsman was sacked by Real Sociedad this afternoon.

Moyes, who lasted 10 months as Manchester United manager, spent just a year in charge of the Spanish side.

Coleman played under Moyes at Everton for four years, and the Irishman is confident that the 52-year-old has all the attributes to succeed elsewhere.

"He was great with me and taught me a lot about the game," BBC Sport quotes Coleman as saying. "He was a tough operator, but he was fair.

"I was delighted to see him get the United job and I am disappointed at how the last 18 months has gone for him because he is a great manager and I have seen that at first hand."

Moyes was in charge of Everton for 11 years.
