Everton reportedly interview former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo over replacing Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park.

Everton have reportedly interviewed former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo in their hunt to replace Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti departed Goodison Park to return to Real Madrid at the beginning of this month, and Nuno left Wolves at the end of the season after four years at the helm.

Nuno is the leading candidate to fill the vacant managerial post at Everton, who also considered the possibility of a return for West Ham United boss David Moyes.

According to Football Insider, after Everton owner Farhad Moshiri made contact with Nuno's agent Jorge Mendes last week, an interview has now taken place.

Factors that have helped Nuno become the favourite for the job reportedly include his availability having left Wolves, Nuno's successful Wolves spell and his agent Mendes.

During his four-year spell at Molineux, Nuno oversaw 199 matches, guided the club to Premier League promotion and then secured back-to-back seventh-placed finishes in his first two seasons in the top flight.
