Everton boss Roberto Martinez confirms that he is attempting to secure a work permit for AS Monaco's Lacina Traore in order to complete a loan deal for the 6'8" striker.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that he is keen to complete a loan move for AS Monaco striker Lacina Traore this month.

Speaking after his side's 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion on Monday night, Martinez explained that the Toffees are trying to secure a work permit for the 6'8" 23-year-old.

"Lacina is a player that we are very interested in," Martinez told the club's official website.

"We need to get over that [work permit] hurdle first and then if we can get through that it will be a good addition to the squad."

Traore, who had been strongly linked with a move to West Ham United, has been capped seven times by the Ivory Coast at senior international level, scoring four goals in the process.
