Everton and West Ham United could be about to rejoin the chase to sign Luc Castaignos after FC Twente revealed that they haven't completed a deal for the Inter Milan striker.
The 19-year-old's agent claimed last week that he had chosen a return to his native Netherlands, despite interest from the Premier League.
"There's still a pretty big gap between what we want to pay and what they're asking. We'll have to think long and hard about it," Twente chairman Joop Munsterman told De Telegraaf.
"I won't be rushed into making a decision. That will only cost the club a lot of money. This transfer could take a while, because Inter are clearly not in a rush either."
Queens Park Rangers and Fulham have also been linked with a move for Castaignos.
