Kieran Richardson: 'Fulham must beat Southampton'

Kieran Richardson believes that Fulham have to beat Southampton this weekend if they want to give their survival hopes a boost.

Kieran Richardson has insisted that Fulham must beat Southampton in the Premier League this weekend if they want to give their survival hopes a boost.

The Cottagers remain one point above the relegation zone following Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat at Swansea City.

Richardson now believes that the strugglers have to claim three points this weekend in order to ease their worries.

"We've got to focus on Southampton now," he told the club's official website. "We can't dwell on Swansea as we've got a big home game coming up which is a must-win for us.

"It's a massive game and we're going to need great home support on Saturday. We know we've got to roll our sleeves up and put a big performance in because we owe the fans that. Like I said, it's a must-win three points for us."

Fulham have lost six of their last eight games in the Premier League.
