Chris Coleman questions Fulham's Rene Meulensteen sacking

Chris Coleman criticises the decision of Fulham to sack Rene Meulensteen as manager less than three months after his appointment.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has criticised Fulham owner Shahid Khan for sacking Rene Meulensteen.

The 49-year-old Dutchman was appointed as the Cottagers boss in November 2013, but was fired last month as the team continued to struggle in the Premier League relegation zone.

"It's odd for a manager to be shown the door and for the man who came in to be sacked at such short notice," the Daily Mail quotes Coleman as saying.

"The person who sacked him is the same person who gave him the job two months ago."

Coleman played for Fulham between 1997 and 2002, and was in charge of the first team from 2003 until 2007.
