Fulham manager Martin Jol is hoping to convince loan striker Pavel Pogrebnyak to sign a permanent deal at the club.

Fulham manager Martin Jol is hoping that he can convince Pavel Pogrebnyak to commit his future to the club.

The Russian striker is currently at Craven Cottage on a six-month loan deal from German side Stuttgart.

His form since arriving in the Premier League has reportedly interested a number of European clubs, but Jol is eager to sign the 28-year-old on a permanent basis.

"Pavel was at Stuttgart and I knew there were four or five strikers there," Jol told BBC Sport. "I promised him that he would get games at Fulham if he was fit.

"I think he's been very brave to come over here on a loan deal, to try to show everyone what he's made of.

"He's happy here. Hopefully we can convince him to stay."

Pogrebnyak has scored five goals for the Whites in three outings.
