Miroslav Klose: 'Ronaldo is the most complete player ever'

Miroslav Klose calls Ronaldo, whose goalscoring record he broke at the World Cup, "the most complete player ever".

Miroslav Klose has paid tribute to former Brazil striker Ronaldo after breaking his record for most World Cup goals.

The German found the back of the net in the 7-1 triumph over the hosts on Tuesday night, and he believes that it would have been difficult for Ronaldo to have witnessed his record being broken in Belo Horizonte.

"He was an outstanding player," Klose told reporters. "I play in Italy and everyone I've ever talked to there said that Ronaldo was the best player that ever played in Italy. For me he was the most complete player ever.

"Obviously it must be bitter for him that he was in the stadium when I overtook him in the match against Brazil."

Klose will have the opportunity to add to his 16 goals if, as expected, he starts Sunday's World Cup final against Argentina.
