Kwesi Appiah leaves Ghana post by mutual consent

Ghana announce the departure of World Cup coach Kwesi Appiah by mutual consent, with former manager Milovan Rajevac being tipped to return as a replacement.

The Ghana Football Association has confirmed the departure of coach Kwesi Appiah by mutual consent.

The 54-year-old's future had been uncertain following a disastrous World Cup campaign in which they failed to win a single game and had several off-field issues.

A home draw against Uganda in their opening Group E match in the 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers increased the pressure on Appiah, and he was axed despite the 3-2 win in Togo on Wednesday.

The GFA will reveal Appiah's replacement before October's qualifier against Guinea, with former coach Milovan Rajevac being widely tipped to return to the post which he held between 2008 and 2010.

Rajevac led Ghana to the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup in Germany.
