Head coach David Wagner: 'Fans will help Huddersfield Town'

Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner backs the club's supporters to help their side get back to winning ways against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner has acknowledged that Saturday's home fixture with Brighton & Hove Albion is "massive".

After four consecutive defeats in the Premier League, Huddersfield have dropped down to 16th place in the standings ahead of the visit of the Seagulls.

However, the Terriers have generally impressed at the John Smith's Stadium, and Wagner has suggested that the club's supporters will help the team return to winning ways.

The 46-year-old told reporters: "We don't enjoy having a few defeats in a row but we have experienced less successful periods in the Championship. We were always able to come through it and bounce back. It shouldn't be a surprise that this can happen in the Premier League.

"It's a massive game for us, we are very happy that we are at home and we will take the energy from the stands into the game.

"The fans are like a 12th man. They give us a lift; they have done it in the past and they have to do it in the future as well. This is why this football club is so extraordinary- because everyone supports each other even if we win, lose or draw."

Huddersfield currently sit five points above the relegation zone, but will move above Brighton in the table should they emerge victorious at the weekend.
