David Wagner says that he is "delighted for the supporters and the players" following Huddersfield Town's 2-0 home win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner has insisted that his side's "brave" performance against Brighton & Hove Albion provides the perfect blueprint to follow if they are to survive the drop.

The Terriers ended a four-match losing streak on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of a couple of first-half goals from Steve Mounie in their 2-0 victory at the John Smith's Stadium.

Wagner was particularly happy to see summer signing Mounie register for the first time since the opening day of the season, making him the club's top Premier League scorer, as Town moved above their opponents into 11th place.

"I'm delighted for the supporters and the players - all of them," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "Today was exactly what we need to do at home to be successful.

"We wanted to be on our front foot and press them high. I think it worked as we kept them away from our goal. The boys were brave and invested everything.

"I'm really pleased that Steve Mounie got his two goals; his first after the injury. I thought his overall game was good too; he worked so hard"

Today's victory was Huddersfield's first at home in the Premier League by more than a one-goal margin.
