Steve Bruce 'baffled' by refereeing decision

Steve Bruce feels aggrieved that Hull City were denied three points against Stoke City due to a controversial decision made by the match officials at the KC Stadium.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has admitted that he is 'baffled' by the decision to award Stoke City a throw-in in the build up to their equalising goal this afternoon.

The Tigers were on course for their second victory of the season when Nikica Jelavic fired them ahead, but Ryan Shawcross rescued a point for the visitors with 10 minutes remaining at the KC Stadium.

Bruce feels aggrieved that a decision went against his side in the run up to the goal, however, which he believes could have been avoided.

"It baffles me. It is an awful one. The throw-in was ours and blatantly ours," the 53-year-old is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"It is not as though it is faint touch, their boy does not even want to turn round for a throw. You would think they get that right because it has cost us.

"What can you say? We had an awful one last one week as well but it riles me a decision should be given, why can they not say in his ear 'you have got that one wrong'. It only takes 20 seconds. You have the technology."

Hull are back in action on Thursday night with the return leg of their Europa League qualifier against Lokeren.
