Sam Clucas expecting "tough" Sheffield Wednesday test

Sam Clucas insists that Hull City will head to Hillsborough in a confident mood this weekend, but is expecting a difficult match against an in-form Sheffield Wednesday.

Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas has admitted that his side will have to be on top of their game to pick up maximum points at Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

The Tigers have made a positive start to the season since suffering relegation from the Premier League, having taken 18 points from their first 10 games.

Likewise, Wednesday have also managed to keep themselves in playoff contention after recovering from a shaky start and can close the gap on opponents Hull with a win on Saturday afternoon.

Clucas insists that City will head to Hillsborough in a confident mood, however, telling the club's official website: "It should be a tough game and Sheffield Wednesday have had a decent start to the season but we're confident in every game we go into.

"I'm sure they'll be at us from the first minute. They spent a lot of money in the summer to put themselves in with a chance of promotion and I'm sure they'll be close because it's pretty clear they've bought some quality players.

"But we're confident of beating any side in this division and we'll be going to Hillsborough on Saturday looking for the three points. We've beaten Cardiff and Nottingham Forest away recently so we'll have to produce a similar performance to get over the line but we're confident we can do that."

Hull follow up their clash with Wednesday by taking on Ipswich Town and Birmingham City in back-to-back home meetings.
