Jonathan Williams injury scare for Ipswich Town

On-loan playmaker Jonathan Williams appears to pick up an injury playing for Ipswich Town's Under-21 side.

Championship promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town could be without Crystal Palace loanee Jonathan Williams for their final two games of the season after he limped out of a match for the club's Under-21 side today.

The Welsh playmaker is on loan at the Blues for the second time this season, but is yet to start since re-joining the Suffolk side last month before the loan window expired.

It now looks like he might be missing for the Tractor Boys' remaining games at home to Nottingham Forest and away at Blackburn Rovers following his withdrawal before half time in today's game against Bristol City.

According to the Green'Un, Williams was just removed as a precaution, but given his struggles with injury in recent seasons, the signs are worrying.

His first loan spell this season with the Blues was cut short when he suffered a serious injury against Watford in November.

Ipswich are trying to reach the playoffs for the first time in 10 seasons and go into the final two games three points clear of the chasing duo of Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
