Ipswich Town beat high-flying Millwall thanks to a brace from DJ Campbell and a strike from Daryl Murphy.

Ipswich Town were clinical when it mattered to beat high-flying Millwall at Portman Road this afternoon.

Millwall controlled the early stages and were denied a goal by two strong saves by Stephen Henderson, who denied Liam Trotter and James Henry with a pair of smart stops.

Ipswich made the visitors pay before the break when Aaron Cresswell crossed to DJ Campbell to guide home for his seventh goal of the season.

Mick McCarthy's side extended their advantage five minutes into the second half when Daryl Murphy profited from a Danny Shittu error to finish from close range.

A shell-shocked Millwall went three down soon after when Campbell made no mistake from the penalty spot for his second of the match.

Chris Wood threatened more than once to give the visitors a lifeline but he could not reduce the deficit and Mick McCarthy's side closed out the match for a crucial three points.
