Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy praises his substitutes after the Tractor Boys' late victory at Bolton this afternoon.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has praised his three substitutes following a late victory for the Tractor Boys at Bolton Wanderers this afternoon.

The Blues fell behind to Mark Davies's 25-yard strike in the opening period but came back in the second half, stealing the three points thanks to Michael Chopra's poked finish after DJ Campbell had levelled from the spot.

"We made changes in the second half and it was nice they came off," McCarthy told the club's website. "Andy Drury was knackered and we put Daryl [Murphy] on and he won the penalty for us.

"Daryl made an impact. All three substitutes did. Michael Chopra showed the instinct of a goalscorer and I'm pleased for him. He has been excellent since I have been here in the way he has gone about things.

"That is what [the substitutes] are there for though, to go on and make a difference."

Three points for the Suffolk club mean they are now five points clear of the Championship's drop zone.
