Juventus boss Massimiliano Canzi has made an impressive start to his tenure, having overseen eight consecutive victories in all competitions.

They recorded two of those victories in their second-round qualifying tie against Paris Saint-Germain, sealing their spot in Group C alongside Arsenal, Bayern and Valerenga.

Juventus kicked off their third group-stage appearance with a narrow 1-0 victory over Valerenga which came courtesy of Sofia Cantore's 29th-minute effort.

Cantore got on the scoresheet again in Sunday's crucial league clash against Italian champions Roma, with the forward scoring after Barbara Bonansea's opener to fire Canzi's side to a 2-1 victory.

The Italian giants have now scored at least two goals in each of their eight matches this season, and they will be looking to produce another strong attacking display in their first Women's Champions League meeting with Bayern.

Bayern were one of four teams that secured direct qualification to the group stage as a result of last season's league title triumph.

The German champions began their European campaign with a successful home outing against Arsenal, with Pernille Harder netting a 13-minute hat-trick to lead her side to a comprehensive 5-2 victory.

After kicking off the campaign with eight consecutive wins, Bayern's impressive start to the season came to an end in Saturday's Frauen-Bundesliga clash against Wolfsburg.

Vivien Endemann and Lineth Beerensteyn both found the net to condemn Bayern to a 2-0 away defeat, bringing an end to their 44-game unbeaten run in the German top flight.

Bayern will hope to return to winning ways in Wednesday's trip to Italy, but claiming three points will be easier said than done after winning just one of their previous four European away games.

Team News

Juventus Women's Sofia Cantore in action on September 30, 2024© Imago

Juventus defender Viola Calligaris could be recalled to feature in a back three alongside Estelle Cascarino and Martina Lenzini.

Sweden international Hanna Bennison could also come back into the side after dropping down to the bench against Roma.

Cantore will continue to operate in the forward line, with the striker looking to the six competitive goals she has scored this season.

As for Bayern, they are unable to call upon the injured trio of Katharina Naschenweng, Lena Oberdorf and Franziska Kett.

Forward Jovana Damnjanovic is a doubt after being forced off in the first half of Saturday's league defeat to Wolfsburg.

Sydney Lohmann could replace Damnjanovic in the starting lineup, while there could also be a starting spot for defender Carolin Simon.

Juventus Women possible starting lineup:
Peyraud-Magnin; Lenzini, Calligaris, Cascarino; Thomas, Caruso, Bennison, Bonansea; Cantore, Beccari, Girelli

Bayern Munich Women possible starting lineup:
Grohs; Gwinn, Viggosdottir, Sembrant, Simon; Stanway, Zadrazil; Lohmann, Harder, Buhl; Schuller

We say: Juventus Women 2-2 Bayern Munich Women

Juventus have won all eight of their competitive matches this season, but we think they will have to settle for a point when they face a top-quality Bayern side who will be keen to produce a positive response following their disappointing result at the weekend.
