Antonio Conte: 'The players surpassed themselves'

Juventus boss Antonio Conte praises his players as they become the first team in the history of Italian football to break the 100-point mark in Serie A.

Juventus boss Antonio Conte has hailed his players as they broke the Serie A points record following their 3-0 win over Cagliari.

Conte's side had already secured the title but became the first team in the history of Italian football to surpass the 100-point mark, as goals from Andrea Pirlo, Fernando Llorente and Claudio Marchisio fired them to the win.

He told Sky Sport Italia: "I am very, very happy. In all honesty, I didn't think we could reach 102 points. Our objective was to achieve a third consecutive Scudetto, which was history and always our primary target that we focused on.

"Once we achieved that, we tried to reach this famous figure that seems incredible. The players were special with three straight titles and a record of points, but they surpassed themselves because 102 points will be very tough to beat."

Conte has refused to commit his future to the club following his third title win in a row.
