Lee McCulloch to join Kilmarnock?

Former Rangers captain Lee McCulloch is reportedly close to joining Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock as a player-coach.

Former Rangers captain Lee McCulloch is reportedly on the verge of joining Kilmarnock as a player-coach.

The 37-year-old was released by the Gers at the end of last season following an eight-year spell at Ibrox Stadium.

McCulloch has been linked with a return to Rangers, but he is now expected to join Gary Locke's backroom staff, according to Sky Sports News.

Locke has been in permanent charge of the Scottish Premiership side since April.

McCulloch, who has also played for Motherwell and Wigan Athletic, scored one goal in 18 appearances for Scotland between 2004 and 2010.
