Leeds United scored a late first-half equaliser through Luciano Becchio to cancel out Lukas Jutkiewicz's opener.

Middlesbrough started very brightly indeed, with Lukas Jutkiewicz firing just wide from outside the box and Scott McDonald shooting over inside the opening three minutes.

Boro continued to threaten and Jutkiewicz headed wide on six minute before Michael Tonge had Leeds's first chance with a free kick on 13, but Jason Steele was equal to it.

The game turned scrappy with both sides giving away free kicks and being caught offside.

On the half-hour mark the visitors were ahead, and it was the threatening Jutkiewicz who fired into the top corner from inside the box.

Then, just before the break, Becchio notched to pull his side level.
