Simon Grayson ready for "fiery" Donny derby

Leeds boss Simon Grayson says that his side are ready for a "fiery" Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers this evening.

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has said that his side are ready for a "fiery" Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers this evening.

Both sides are currently in a purple patch with new Rovers boss Dean Saunders taking seven points from nine in his first three games in charge while Leeds are on a four-match unbeaten run.

The sides met in a Carling Cup tie in August which Leeds won 2-1, but Grayson is expecting a different Doncaster side to turn up at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Since then Saunders has been appointed as manager, replacing Sean O'Driscoll, and they have signed Premier League experience in players such as Pascal Chimbonda and Chris Kirkland.

"When we played them in August we had a very different team out, and they certainly did," said Grayson.

"With Dean being manager now, he's got different ideas and different personnel so that result will have no significance on tonight's game or on the result – because of the players who are going to be involved this time.

"It's going to be a fiery encounter and two local teams going head-to-head. I saw Doncaster play against Hull the other week and they've gone from being a passing team who kept the ball to being more direct."

Leeds are currently 11th in the Championship on 14 points with Rovers a further six back in 20th.
