Preview: Reading vs. Leeds United

Sports Mole previews Wednesday night's Championship match between Reading and Leeds at the Madejski.

Leeds United will be looking to continue their unbeaten away start to the Championship season when they visit the Madejski Stadium to take on Reading on Wednesday evening.

Brian McDermott's men have achieved two wins and a draw from their three trips away so far this season and victory in two days' time will see them strengthen their position in the division's top six.

The same XI that beat Bolton are likely to start in Berkshire but McDermott could be boosted by the return of star right-back Sam Byram to the squad after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

For the hosts, Nigel Adkins will be without Pavel Pogrebnyak, who is serving a one-match ban after being sent off in the goalless draw against Brighton on Sunday.

The Russian's absence could see Nick Blackman start while Garath McCleary may also come in as Adkins looks for an improved performance from the weekend.

The last time these two sides met was a year-and-a-half ago when Reading came through 2-0 thanks to a late brace from Adam Le Fondre, who should start on Wednesday.
