Neil Redfearn: 'Leeds United need two or three new signings'

Neil Redfearn believes that Leeds United will need to sign at least two players in the transfer window as they look to move away from the Championship relegation zone.

Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has claimed that he needs at least two new additions to his squad after overseeing a 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers.

The result leaves Leeds just two points outside the relegation zone, and Redfearn is hopeful that the situation will force the club's recruitment staff and owner Massimo Cellino to complete transfer business as soon as possible.

"Massimo flew back today but I think his flight was delayed - I'm not surprised with the winds - and obviously we will meet up and have a chat next week. Like I've said before, our set-up is different in that we have a recruiter and technical director in Nicola Salerno," the Leeds boss told reporters.

"I've got to get my head together with them and see which is the best way forward, but in my opinion I think we need two or three players to stiffen us up.

"Ideally it will be soon because other clubs are recruiting now; the Brightons and Millwalls, they are getting players in. There are players out there but we will obviously have to have these conversations."

Leeds are back in action against Birmingham City at Elland Road next Saturday.
